Who are Pioneer Creek Rangers?

The club was established by some enthusiastic shooters in Pretoria in 2005 as a gun club to practice and promote the sport of western action shooting, initially with black powder firearms. The club now practices Cowboy Action Shooting ™ as defined by the Single Action Shooting Society ™ as well as Wild Bunch ™ and black powder shooting

Pioneer Creek Rangers is a non-racial, non-gender discriminating and non-political organisation and is open to anyone with similar interests.

Visitors interested in these shooting disciplines are welcome subject to a briefing by the Range Officer on the safety rules, completing an indemnity form and the shooting register. Ear and eye protection must be worn at all times by all shooters, officials and spectators near the firing line when shooting is in progress.

Club meetings are held on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. On a typical day members must be at the gates by latest 07h55 with CAS™ shooting from 9h00 to 10h30 at this time Security will open and the 1st group can depart should they wish so, shooting activities will continue until 11h30 where after we will braai and socialise until latest 13h00.

How to find us

We use the Montana Pistol Club Range that is located on Onderstepoort veterinary Service farm Kaalplaas.

From Doornpoort Toll Plaza

Head west on N4 (towards Rustenburg)

10.0 km

Take exit 276 for R566 toward Pretoria

Turn right onto Rosslyn Rd/R566

3.1 km

Turn left onto M35

2.8km

Destination will be on the left

We congregate at the gate and move to the shooting grounds as a group by 08h00.
